WELCOME TO

Hinduism in Europe

Visit

 Ganesha Temple in Paris, France
and

Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple in Oldbury, West Midlands, U.K.

We recently visited Lahore, Pakistan. Our trip was an extension to our visit to India and in quest to discover a missing link. My wife wanted to visit her family 'home' in Lahore.

Apart from sightseeing which included evening to famous Anarkali, we managed to find remains of a Hindu temple in old Model Town in Lahore.

Do you know of anyone who remembers the Temple? I believe Model Town was predominately a Hindu area pre-1947.

The religion and culture of Hinduism has survived since over 2000 B.C. as a result of having passed down through generations. Hinduism has spread around the globe and together with Buddhism, its sister religion, has over 2 billion devotees. It is well established in Europe.

My aim is to spread awareness of Hinduism in the United Kingdom and Europe through this
website. It is not my intention to propagate the religion, this I believe is a task best left to the management of various Mandirs (Temples), Societies and individual Pundits and scholars who work hard to keep the religion flourishing in Europe. It is my specific aim to identify these organisations and individuals who actively work hard to encourage the practice of Hinduism.

Hindu Temples and religious societies are established in most major cities all over Europe. I
have included information currently available to me.

You are invited to submit information of Temples/societies for inclusion in the website. Do inform your relatives and friends to visit the website.

You are most welcome to visit any Temple to learn more about Hinduism.

Do regularly visit this website and let me have your comments and suggestions.
